Major Drug Bust in Assam
The Chief Minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma, announced that a significant seizure of Yaba tablets and smuggled cigarettes took place in Cachar district on Saturday, valued at ₹8 crore. This operation was executed through a collaborative effort between the Assam Police and the Assam Rifles.
During the operation on the Barak River, authorities intercepted a boat. From this vessel, they confiscated 10,000 Yaba tablets and 125,000 packets of 'Essential Light Cigarettes', collectively worth ₹8 crore. The Chief Minister remarked, "This is a significant victory for the Assam Police."
